SABIC® FORTIFY™ C1085 is designed as a low density and high performance copolymer modifier to provide superior impact properties and flow characteristics.

SABIC™ FORTIFY™ C1085 is an ethylene-octene copolymer (POE) produced via solution polymerization using metallocene catalysts; it belongs to the class of high-performance polyolefin elastomers. Its key characteristics include a combination of the high elasticity of rubber and the easy processability of thermoplastics. It is primarily used as a modifier for low-density, high-performance copolymers, delivering excellent impact resistance and flow properties.
- Effective Toughening: Acts as a copolymer modifier to significantly enhance the impact resistance of base materials such as polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE), particularly by improving low-temperature brittleness.
- Processing-Friendly: Exhibits excellent thermal stability and flowability; suitable for injection molding and extrusion processes, and easily blended and dispersed with other polyolefin materials.
- Weather and Aging Resistance: Its molecular structure contains no unsaturated double bonds, providing excellent resistance to UV radiation and environmental stress cracking.
Applications:
- Primary Applications: Widely used for the toughening modification of thermoplastic polyolefin compounds, injection molding, durable consumer goods, wire and cable jacketing extrusion, and footwear materials (such as soles and insoles).
- Compatibility: Exhibits excellent compatibility with polyolefin substrates like PP and PE; achieves uniform dispersion without the need for additional compatibilizers and significantly enhances the low-temperature impact resistance of the base material.
- Processing Methods: Suitable for various processes such as injection molding and extrusion; the product comes in free-flowing granules with low hygroscopicity, typically requiring no drying.
- Restrictions: This product is not suitable for any pharmaceutical or medical applications.
