PA6+GF is a thermoplastic material that consists of polyamide 6 (PA6) reinforced with glass fiber (GF). The material is a combination of two materials, each with their unique properties, and has superior performance compared to the individual materials. PA6+GF is widely used in various industries, including automotive, electrical and electronics, and consumer goods, due to its excellent mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties.
The addition of glass fiber to PA6 enhances its mechanical properties significantly, such as stiffness, strength, and dimensional stability. It increases the tensile strength of the material by up to 70% and the flexural strength by up to 100%, compared to unfilled PA6. The glass fibers also improve the creep resistance of the material, reducing the deformation under a constant load. The reinforcement also leads to a lower coefficient of thermal expansion, improving the dimensional stability of the material under thermal cycling.
