Rotational molding, also known as rotational molding, rotary molding, rotary molding, etc., is a hollow molding method for thermoplastics. The method is to first put plastic raw materials into the mold, and then the mold is continuously rotated along two vertical axes and heated. Under the action of gravity and heat energy, the plastic raw materials in the mold are gradually and uniformly coated, melted and adhered to the entire surface of the mold cavity, formed into the required shape, and then cooled and shaped to form a product.

In terms of formability, the rotomolding process has uniform wall thickness, no corner waste, and no welds; it can form products with a wide range of wall thickness, such as polyethylene rotational molding parts, and the wall thickness range can be within 1~16mm. In terms of molding process, since the rotary molding process only requires the frame to be strong enough to support the material, the weight of the mold and the frame itself, and the closing force to prevent material leakage, even if processing large and extra-large plastic parts, there is no need to use very heavy equipment and molds. Therefore, in theory, there is almost no upper limit on the size of products made by rotational molding.
